We are lifelong learning partners for adults seeking the chance to live an independent, productive, and meaningful life. We have a proven track record of results, and we consistently measure outcomes from the first day of our Summer Internship Program, through entry into our Undergraduate Program, and continuing on in our Community Living Program. We provide guidance for the many transitions our graduates will face as they journey through life.
We believe our students and graduates can live independent, self sufficient, whole lives. Through our giving programs, you have the opportunity to build the long-term financial sustainability of Minnesota Life College so that this resource is available and stable for generations to come.
The Role of Philanthropy at MLC.
Our programs are currently funded through program fees and individual, foundation, and corporate contributions, which makes the role of philanthropy at Minnesota Life College so very important. Philanthropy allows MLC to provide access to our programs, enables growth and improvement within our organization, and empowers program innovation and development. Each year we assess our financial needs and philanthropic priorities for the organization and make changes where and when appropriate.
Philanthropic Financial Needs
Access – Our goal is to meet 40% of a family’s identified financial need, which will alleviate the financial barriers that would otherwise restrict access to our program.
Growth & Improvement – We have identified mental health support as area of our program that need investment for growth and improvement.
Program Innovation – There is an unmet need for adults with learning differences and Autism Spectrum who are living independently. There will always be tasks, and responsibilities that will be a challenge for our graduates; however those challenges should never inhibit ones ability to be independent. In 2016 MLC will seek the support of our philanthropic community to invest in the development and pilot of our Individual Support Specialist (ISS) program.
