Of all the issues that could arise within the walls of a hospital, this one was a bit peculiar for Fairview Southdale in Edina.
The trays that stretched out and over the nearly 400 beds in the building were cluttered.
Whether it was a newspaper or flowers or anything else that is routinely placed on those trays, the mess needed to be cleaned.
"We had a need," said Pamela Mills, the Director of Volunteer Services at Fairview Southdale. "We have 390 beds here that need to be fed and only a couple people who take those [food] trays around. So, sometimes by the time people had their food it was cold or late. We were trying to figure out how to make it better."
