Program Assistant

Join Minnesota Life College (MLC) in fulfilling our mission to “prepare young adults with learning differences to achieve personal and financial self-sufficiency.” MLC is a residential program with students on campus 10 months of the year. Program Assistant positions start in late August and run through June 2009. Vacations follow a school calendar with holidays at Thanksgiving, Winter, Spring and Summer.
We have openings at MLC for hourly support staff for evenings and weekends. Potential duties include: supervising social activities, supporting independent living curriculum, and providing evening support. The successful candidate will be the primary responder to student issues during the evening and weekend times.

Marketing/Admissions Intern – Part-Time Unpaid

Minnesota Life College (MLC) is a residential (apartment living) program for young adults with learning differences, ADHD, Aspergers syndrome and related disorders focused on preparing students to be as personally and financially independent as possible and to achieve their dreams in life! We are a private non-profit organization, located in Richfield, Minnesota.
We are currently looking for a Marketing/Admissions Intern to assist the Director of Admissions and Marketing with a variety of tasks. Work schedule will be 20-25 hours per week or more, depending on candidate’s availability. Responsibilities will include:
• Assist with MLC/Graduate Living Community special events, including evenings and weekends on occasion
• Assist in creation of agency newsletter, including writing and formatting
• Create video clips for website with FLIP Video camera
• Assist in maintaining MLC facebook page
• Help identify new marketing opportunities
• Update and develop information for admissions tour packet
• Speak with prospective families about Minnesota Life College, mail recruitment materials to prospective families
• Track admissions/marketing results
• Understand and maintain consistency with MLC’s mission, vision and values in all projects, tasks and relationships with community partners
To be qualified for this position, you must be working towards a BS/BA degree in Human Services, Social Service, Marketing, Public Relations, Communication, or related field and must have a special interest in working with people with learning differences. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, with excellent oral and written communication skills are also required. Must have own transportation, a valid drivers license and familiarity with the Twin Cities Metro area. Must also be able to maintain confidentiality with all aspects of the program, specifically program participants
